> Breakfast of choice

Me: I don't eat breakfast, but pancakes or waffles are just as good in the afternoon.

Keiko: She usually just eats something simple like toast or bagel with cream cheese or butter, but generally she'll have whatever her companion has.

Lara: Anything with cinnamon in it, whether it's cereal or fresh cinnamon rolls or muffins.

Chiaki: Rolled salmon.

Yuki: No time for breakfast.

Liu Xi: Espresso. She's developing quite a caffiene addiction.

> Last book read

Me: Peter David's "The Woad To Wuin"

Keiko: Peter David's "Sir Apropos of Nothing" (she borrowed it from me)

Lara: Currently reading the new Harry Potter. She has a source.

Chiaki: Something Hatman gave her.

Yuki: Not much time for reading lately.

Liu Xi: The Necronomicon. And with comprehension. That's what she says, anyway.

> Last CD/DVD/vinyl bought

Me: Buy music? Me?

Keiko: A whole set of Interpol CD's.

Lara: The Karate Kid on DVD.

Chiaki: Kill Bill vol 1 and 2.

Yuki: Downloads all music and video from the 'net.

Liu Xi: Ordered the latest Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex DVD but shhh! she wants to surprise the Manga Shoggoth.

> Last movie watched in a cinema – and what they thought of it

Me: I don't even remember. I don't have $9 on me very often.

Keiko: Batman Begins. And as usual she laughed at the action sequences.

Lara: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (advance screening).

Chiaki: Batman Begins.

Yuki: Whatever the latest release on Bittorrent was last night.

Liu Xi: Fantastic Four, in an attempt to get Ebony "out of the house".

> Regular subscription publications

Me: Popular Mechanics, Discover, and the useless rag that passes for a newspaper in this town.

Keiko: A collection of Japanese language magazines and papers so she doesn't lose touch with her native language. She picks up regular English ones too but doesn't actually subscribe.

Lara: Discover, National Geographic (they do have the best photos), L.A. Times.

Chiaki: Has issues with the quality of most mass-published magazines. Reads a few independent ones at random.

Yuki: A whole lot of them, except she didn't pay a dime for any of them.

Liu Xi: None, no money to pay for subscriptions.

> Most treasured possession

Me: My car. I keep it in perfect condition.

Keiko: A pair of matching Japanese swords given to her by her first lover. She doesn't actually use them often because she's afraid of damaging them, and she keeps them shiny and in their protective case.

Lara: A small crystal found in a remote part of the world by a friend of hers. She's been uprooted many times, and that crystal (mounted on a necklace) is the only thing that has stayed with her.

Chiaki: Her samurai sword. It's very, very old, and not even she knows where it orginated, but it's been passed down for generations and she's not going to destroy it now.

Yuki: Her cybernetic body, her means of living and exceeding everything she could have ever dreamed.

Liu Xi: Has nothing and has learned to live with it. Her only prized "possession" is her independence.

> Favourite fictional character (non PV)

Me: You think I'm going to say Birdy, don't you? Well I'm not. While I like that series a lot, I'd have to say Chihiro from Spirited Away really stuck with me as a dynamic character.

Keiko: The Bride from Kill Bill. Reminds her of someone familiar.

Lara: Batman.

Chiaki: Shrek and Donkey.

Yuki: The little kid from Aliens.

Liu Xi: Leona from Dominion Tank Police. She and the Manga Shoggoth can debate that for hours.

> Ideal date venue - and who'd be the date

Me: I make use of a slow yet democratic process of "what do you feel like doing?"

Keiko: Had her heart broken by too many she knows to call any of them an ideal date. But her ideal "venue" is more abstract than most - not a physical place, but any ideal setting to really get to know someone. She rewards that well.

Lara: The beach. Definately the beach, especially at night. She doesn't want to mention anyone in particular because she's afraid it would ruin her chances.

Chiaki: She would find the highest place in town to sit and watch the sunrise after being awake all night. She likes Hatman and Visionary but doesn't really have her heart set on it.

Yuki: Al B Harper is her life savior and the most loyal person she knows, so emotionally she has to give him preference. His LL friends will be especially disappointed when they learn her ideal date consists of lots of sex. And maybe a movie.

Liu Xi: Aside from one horrible incident, she's never been on a date, and while she is naturally curious at her age about the opposite sex she has an intense fear of the prospect of being touched at all. Since she knows that she's likely to just wait until someone very patient comes along to encourage her.

> Favourite sport or social activity

Me: Social activity? Oh yeah, that. Dinners or travel with groups of people, I guess.

Keiko: Favorite sport-like activity would be practicing tai chi, and she's willing to share it with someone, but that's not terribly social.

Lara: Roller-blading or surfing. Yes, surfing, even though she's not terribly good at it.

Chiaki: Making Hatman put on different hats and then role playing with him. No, it's not as perverted as it sounds. It's just that she finds so many things to be predictable that's one thing that isn't.

Yuki: Skyscraper diving. So far it's not really social as no one is brave enough to try it with her.

Liu Xi: Exploring just how far she can bend reality, which isn't really social except that she tries to share it with Visionary, who usually becomes ill. A more social activity she enjoys is just listening to people.

> How they’d spend their last 24 hours if they knew for sure they were going to die

Me: Probably just make sure to say goodbye to everyone I know so I wouldn't feel guilty about not telling them.

Keiko: If there's someone to blame for her impending death there won't be for long. Other than that she would just spend as much time as possible with the few people she loves and cares about.

Lara: She would cluster everyone she knows around her to support her for the inevitable crying and nervous breakdown as the deadline approaches. She is intensely fearful of death.

Chiaki: Would make peace with everyone she is familiar with or cares about so she has no regrets.

Yuki: Would shrug and try to have fun. After all, she cheated death once already and knew it would catch up to her someday.

Liu Xi: She would quietly tell a few people she cares to let know about it, but she wouldn't make much of a fuss about it. She doesn't really believe she's important enough to make the world care.

To the Spirit of the Night, I surrender...
